The Ginny Cheek Memorial Grant Fund
We announced in our last newsletter that David and Ginny Cheek had
together made the decision to make a very generous financial gift to our
community upon Ginny's passing to be with our Lord. David presented the
gift this summer only asking that the Board utilize it wisely. We met
with him to obtain his blessing about our creating the "Ginny Cheek
Memorial Grant Fund" to assist those in financial need for the cost of a
pilgrim or caterpillar attending their first Walk or Flight. I'm
pleased to announce that the fund is established and grants will be
available for the upcoming Fall Walks.
The process for obtaining a grant is fairly simple; if a sponsor
realizes there is a legitimate financial need for assistance in paying
first time walk or flight fees, then a simple form will be submitted to
the registrar along with the application and sponsor form. The grant
application form must be acknowledged by a clergy, which confirms there
is a financial need. Financial assistance is granted if a clergy
recommends the grant and then it will be applied directly to the cost of
the walk or flight. We plan to have the form available via our website
soon, however, you may contact Theresa Henretty at 479-442-4237.
Our prayer is that the "Ginny Cheek Memorial Grant Fund" will exist
permanently since members of our community have already inquired about
making financial gifts into it. The Board and our community thank David
and Jenny from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful expression of
God's love. Ginny's legacy of unconditional love and serving continues
to live in our community and in God's world! Thank you David and
